Who likes to add a bit more spice to a Sunday night? If you’re like me and like to have a few quid/bucks on a few bets during the weeks’ slate, it always adds that extra bit of intrigue and excitement when watching RedZone doesn’t it! In this article, you are going to find my opinion on how things might pan out throughout the day, I will share with you the bets I will be placing and the reason why by either digging into stats or just my gut feelings!
Minnesota Vikings vs Arizona Cardinals -10.0
Carolina Panthers @ Washington Redskins -1.0
Chicago Bears @ Miami Dolphins -5.5
New York Jets vs Indianapolis Colts -2.0
Houston Texans vs Buffalo Bills -9.5
Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer will not want his team to slip up at home again like they did in week 3 vs the Bills. That was embarrassing and severely dented playoff hopes. I would expect the Vikes to come out all guns blazing against one of the worst teams in the league with Kirk Cousins taking advantage of the explosive duo of Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen.
The Redskins have been a bit hit and miss so far this season but they did not look at all good on Monday Night Football vs New Orleans. Despite a decent 31-17 win over Green Bay at FedEx Field in week 3, the Saints were the first real test of the season which ended miserably. Carolina is as good as New Orleans on paper and I expect Cam and Co to bring the heat after a lackluster performance last week against the Giants.
Talking of falls from grace – how about the Dolphins? Since storming the first three games of the season, the schedule became more difficult and the performances have shown. The best Bears defense since ’85 come to town and I don’t think Miami has the weapons to tame them, especially with Ryan Tannehill expected to not suit up. I think Chicago wins, and wins big.
I hate betting for and against my Indy Colts; however, it’s hard to not back against them this week with an improving Jets team who have the ability to take advantage of a banged up Indy defense. There are a lot of injuries throughout the Colts locker room at the moment and I wonder just what the “second stringers” will be able to achieve.
Houston is another team who have shown vast improvements after a slow start to the season. They face the Bills, who, despite being 2-3 this season, still looks like one of the weaker team in the league. I think this battle would be closer if it was being played at New Era Field, but with the Texans at home, I can see them covering the spread.
